French knots

For showing tiny details such as eyes and flower heads use French knots. On the chart they are represented by dots. To make it bring the needle up, hold the thread taut in your hand and wrap the needle around it twice. Then take the needle down into the fabric as close as possible to the place where it came up. Keep the thread taut, then pull it through until you see a neat knot on the front.
